FULL DAY TOUR TO PRIENE, MILETUS AND DIDYMA FROM KUSADASI HARBOR

We drive to Priene in the morning. Priene is one of the 12 Ionians founded in 12th century B.C. According to European historians it is considered as the Pompeii of Anatolia. Among the widely spread ruins, The Temple of Athena Polias on the hill built in the 4th century B.C., Agora, and the best preserved Hellenistic Theater and many others. Then, we continue to Miletus; it was one of the oldest settlements of Ionia. This city has provided its alphabet to the rest of the classical world. It was a great port and hometown of several philosophers and sages; mathematician Thales was born in Miletus. The city was also visited by Saint Paul during his missionary act. Theatre, Ionian Stoa, Bath of Faustina, harbor monument; etc are among the ruins we will visit. We visit the Temple of Apollo afterwards. Antique geographer Strabo regards Apollo Temple the most magnificent and grand temple of the world. It was the seat of an oracle rivaled the one in Delphi. It is guessed that the 70 tons of one-piece marble block that sits between the doors opening to the courtyard, is the only architectural part in the world. Lunch is included on that tour.

Tour strength: Moderate activity. It takes approx. one hour fifteen minutes to get to Didyma from Kusadasi harbor. All of those sites are along the same way. The tour lasts approx. 6 hours.
